All of our trailers require a 2 5/16" ball hitch. This is the most common size for heavy-duty trailers. Make sure your hitch is rated for the trailer's GVWR before towing.
If you're unsure whether your vehicle is compatible, give us a call before booking and we'll help you figure it out.
All trailers use a 7-way RV-style plug. Most modern trucks and SUVs with a factory tow package have this connector. If your vehicle only has a 4-pin flat connector, you'll need a 7-way adapter before pickup.
| Trailer | Empty Weight | Max Payload | GVWR |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20ft Car Hauler | ~2,800 lbs | 7,200 lbs | 10,000 lbs |
| 14ft Dump Trailer | ~3,500 lbs | 10,500 lbs | 14,000 lbs |
| 24ft Enclosed | ~3,700 lbs | 6,300 lbs | 10,000 lbs |
| 22ft Deck Over Tilt | ~4,800 lbs | 9,200 lbs | 14,000 lbs |
Always factor in the weight of your load and confirm your vehicle's tow rating before heading out.
It depends on what you're hauling. Most modern half-ton trucks (F-150, Silverado 1500, Ram 1500) can handle the car hauler and enclosed trailer with a light to moderate load. For the dump trailer and deck over, a 3/4-ton or 1-ton truck is strongly recommended, especially when loaded near capacity.
Your vehicle's owner manual will list its maximum tow rating. When in doubt, call us — we'd rather help you figure it out beforehand than have you stuck on the side of the road.

Yes. You can cancel or modify your reservation up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup with no additional fees. Changes made within 24 hours may be subject to a fee. Contact us directly at (360) 562-0477 and we'll take care of it.

General rules that apply to all trailers:
— No hazardous materials — chemicals, flammables, bio-waste, or anything that requires special disposal.
— No illegal items of any kind.
— Loads must be properly secured before moving. Unsecured loads are a safety hazard and your responsibility.
— Do not exceed the trailer's GVWR or payload capacity.
Dump trailer specific: Asphalt, gravel, and concrete bags (not large chunks or slabs) are allowed but must not exceed the 8.5" max fill line (approximately 2.5 cubic yards). Overloading will result in damage charges.
When in doubt, text us and ask — we'd rather answer a question upfront than deal with a problem later.
Yes — we offer a 10% discount for active military, veterans, police, fire, and EMS personnel. Just mention it at booking and we'll apply it to your reservation.
Weekly rates are also automatically applied when you book 7 or more days, which is cheaper than paying the daily rate.
No mileage limit. Take the trailer wherever you need to go — in-state or out of state. Just make sure it's returned by your agreed return date and time.
Call or text us immediately at (360) 562-0477. If it's a maintenance or mechanical issue on our end, we've got you covered — that's on us.
However, renters are responsible for all other damages including but not limited to: negligence, overloading, tire blowouts, accidents, and misuse of equipment. Any damage beyond normal wear and tear is the renter's financial responsibility.
Pre-existing damage is documented in your walk-around inspection photos at pickup, protecting you from being charged for something that was already there.
You are required to have valid auto insurance that covers towing a trailer before renting. Most standard auto insurance policies extend to trailers — check with your provider to confirm your coverage.
509 Trailer Rentals is insured through our commercial insurance provider, MBA Insurance. You are still responsible for the trailer while it is in your possession. Any damage caused by negligence, overloading, accidents, or misuse is the renter's financial responsibility regardless of insurance status.
Yes — through our commercial insurance provider MBA Insurance, we offer optional damage protection you can add to your rental at the time of booking:
| Trailer | Daily Rate | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| 20ft Car Hauler | $13/day | Damage protection |
| 14ft Dump Trailer | $13/day | Damage protection |
| 22ft Deck Over Tilt | $21/day | Damage protection |
| 24ft Enclosed Trailer | $21/day | Damage protection |
Adding protection gives you peace of mind against accidental damage during your rental. It does not cover negligence, overloading, or intentional misuse. Insurance can be added during the booking process.
Every rental includes a digital rental agreement. Here's exactly what it is, why it exists, and what to expect — step by step.
Once your booking is confirmed and payment is processed, the system automatically generates your rental agreement. You'll receive a text with a secure link to sign it — usually within a few minutes of booking.
The link takes you to a digital document that outlines your rental details — trailer, dates, rates, and key policies. It takes about 60 seconds to read through. We keep it plain language — no legal jargon designed to confuse you.
Sign with your finger or a typed signature directly on your phone. No printing, no scanning, no email attachments. Once signed, you'll get a copy sent to your email for your records.
At pickup, you'll complete a brief photo inspection on your phone — documenting the trailer's condition before you leave. This protects you. Any pre-existing damage is on record so you can't be held responsible for something that was already there.
When you bring the trailer back, you'll complete a second quick inspection confirming it's in the same condition as when you picked it up. Lock it up, drop the key in the lockbox, and you're done. No waiting around.
The rental agreement protects both of us. For you — it clearly documents what you're renting, the rates, and the policies so there are no surprises. For us — it establishes accountability and confirms you've agreed to use the equipment responsibly. It's not about distrust. It's about making sure everyone is on the same page from the start so the whole experience stays simple and fair.
